Piscataway, New Jersey: A surveillance video has allegedly shown Fire Chief Joshua Scolnick vandalizing a rare 1995 Nissan Nismo 270R sports car parked next to the firehouse where he works. The car’s owner, Mark Bahna, claims that Scolnick was upset about rainwater from his sump pump seeping over to the Arbor Hose Company #1 next door. Bahna, who collects and sells Japanese sports cars, says his car was scratched and dented and is one of only 30 produced by Nissan in 1995.

Mark Bahna’s attorney, Mark Speed, stated that they are exploring all legal options and have reached out to the parties involved in writing. The attorney mentioned that they are waiting for a response to the situation. Bahna’s car, being number five out of the 30 produced, holds sentimental value, as Japanese sports cars have been a passion of his since his childhood when he grew up watching movies like “The Fast and the Furious.”

In recent years, there have been numerous reports of police brutality against minorities in America leading many people to question whether law enforcement officials should be held accountable for their actions.

One such case involves an African American man named George Floyd who was killed by police officers in Minneapolis earlier this year sparking nationwide protests against police brutality and systemic racism in law enforcement.

Floyd’s death led many people around the world to call for justice and reform in law enforcement policies related to use-of-force procedures and body camera requirements among other things.
