Jets Make Changes to High Performance and Sports Science Staff for 2024 Season: Injury Prevention Focus

The Jets Implement Multiple Changes in Their Sports Performance and Science Department

The Jets have made some changes to their high performance and sports science staff for the 2024 season. Director of high performance Brad DeWeese, assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman, and director of sports science Matt Sams have all left the organization. However, the team has appointed Alexander Carnall as the sports science coordinator.

According to ESPN.com reporter Rich Cimini, the departures were not due to poor performance but were driven by other factors. Joe Douglas, general manager of the Jets, mentioned that one such factor was the team’s significant injuries along the offensive line in the past two seasons. To address this issue, the team signed veteran tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses to bolster the line’s performance. Keeping these players healthy and on the field will be crucial for the team’s success in the 2024 season.
