The US Congress Approves Legislation to Combat Anti-Semitism on College Campuses

Pro-Palestinian demonstrations held at UCLA University in Los Angeles turned violent as firecrackers and tear gas were thrown amidst the chaos. Dozens of counter-protesters arrived at the encampment, attempting to break down the barrier made of safety rails and plywood that separated the two groups.

According to reports from the UCLA student newspaper, supporters of Israel were seen forcefully removing pro-Palestinian tents and engaging in confrontations with them. The mayor of Los Angeles responded to the situation, stating that the police were promptly called to intervene at UCLA University in light of the ongoing clashes.

Meanwhile, at Brown University, students at the protest camp agreed to vacate the area in exchange for a vote on diverting investments from companies linked to Israel. The university’s president expressed appreciation for the students’ efforts to prevent further escalation of tensions during the protests.
