Hyundai Motor Group Achieves Triple Victory at 2024 World Car Awards

In the realm of electric vehicles, Hyundai Motor Group continues to reign supreme. The Kia EV9 has been named the 2024 World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show, a testament to the Group’s global leadership in this sector. Moreover, the EV9 has also claimed the title of 2024 World Electric Vehicle, while the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N has been awarded the 2024 World Performance Car. These victories are a clear indication of the technological excellence of Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Hyundai Motor Group has a long-standing history of success at the World Car Awards. In previous years, their models have dominated various categories such as World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year. Additionally, Kia’s EV6 GT was named World Performance Car in 2023 and their Telluride won overall World Car of the Year in 2020 while their Soul EV was named World Urban Car.

The Kia EV9’s victory can be attributed to its innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior, and competitive price point. Built on E-GMP architecture, it is Kia’s first model to feature fourth-generation battery technology for enhanced performance. This recent accomplishment further solidifies Hyundai Motor Group’s position as leaders in electric vehicles and their commitment to delivering high-quality and cutting-edge technology to consumers worldwide.
