The annual Healthy Kids Day® hosted by the Statesboro Family YMCA took place on May 4, 2024, from 10am to 2pm in Statesboro. This free event was open to the public and was filled with activities aimed at promoting health and fun for kids and families as they prepared for summer.
The event featured a variety of activities that encouraged physical activity and healthy eating habits in children, including family field day activities, group fitness demos, vendors, water activities, bounce houses, and more. One of the highlights of the day was the distribution of free fruit at the event.
Hannah Beggs, the Executive Branch Director at the Statesboro Family YMCA, expressed that the day was all about kids having fun and enjoying themselves. She explained that there were various activities designed to encourage physical activity and healthy eating habits in children, providing a free and safe space for them to play within the community.
