In 2023, the number of households in Dubai increased by 6.2%, reaching a total of 711,590 families compared to 669,750 families in the previous year. This growth represents an addition of 41,800 new families moving into the emirate in the past year.
Data from the Dubai Statistics Center shows that the population of family members in Dubai reached 2.855 million by the end of 2023, indicating a slight decrease in average family size from 4.1 individuals in 2022 to 4 individuals in 2023 and down slightly from 4.3 individuals in 2021. Despite this decrease, there was still an increase of about one individual per household over the past three years.
The number of residential communities in Dubai also increased slightly from the previous year, with a total of 800 thousand residents living across these communities up by just over one percent from last year’s total of approximately 794 thousand residents . The average size of one residential community also grew slightly over time to about 355 people per community as per data for year 2023 .
