Apple’s MiniLED Display Technology: A Power-Saving Game Changer for iPad Users

New iPad Air with 12.9-inch display to feature same technology as current iPad Pro

Apple has announced that the upcoming 12.9-inch iPad Air will feature MiniLED display technology, the same as the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro. This technology offers benefits such as lower power consumption and increased contrast ratio, making it ideal for watching videos.

The MiniLED display technology was first introduced on the recent 12.9-inch iPad Pro models and MacBook Pro hardware, and it has been praised for its power-saving capabilities and improved contrast ratio. LED-backlit LCD panels are unable to produce true blacks, whereas MiniLED displays offer a much closer result without the drawbacks of OLED panels.

Meanwhile, the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are expected to switch to OLED screens for the first time this year. While Apple already uses OLED screens on the iPhone and Apple Watch, this will be the first time OLED technology is implemented in the iPad Pro models.

Overall, the 12.9-inch iPad Air is shaping up to be a great device for media consumption, especially given its display technology and expected price point. With new iPads set to be unveiled in May, consumers can look forward to an updated version of this powerful tablet from Apple.
