Through our model’s simulations, we have analyzed the performance of each team and their chances of making it to the playoffs. The results showed that the AL and NL would see strong representation from west coast teams.
The AL East is projected to be won by the Boston Red Sox, with the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays also making it to the playoffs. In the AL Central, the Chicago White Sox are expected to lead, with Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals joining them in postseason action. Finally, in the AL West, Houston Astros will likely dominate, with Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics rounding out the division roster.
On the NL side, Atlanta Braves are forecasted to win the NL East, with Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets also making it to the playoffs. Milwaukee Brewers are projected to top the NL Central, followed by St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. The NL West is expected to have Los Angeles Dodgers as division winners, with San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres also earning playoff spots.
