Two Shots, Two Concerns: Business Owners Address Safety Measures Following Brainerd Road Shootings

Local business owners express concern following shooting at Eastgate Circle on Friday | Local News

On Friday morning, a 27-year-old man was shot in the parking lot of the Eastgate Town Center. The incident occurred at around 10:00 am when the victim was walking towards a business. According to Victor Miller with Chattanooga Police, suspects began shooting at him as he walked by and he was hit. The police, fire department, and EMS were called to the scene and EMS transported the victim to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

We spoke to a person who was inside the Tennessee Community Counseling Services and DUI school at the time of the shooting. They reported hearing two gunshots and witnessing the victim enter the building after being shot. Across from where the shooting took place is Molly Maid office, where Sheena Crow, office manager mentioned hearing shots fired. She was in her office when she heard gunshots followed by sirens and emergency vehicles arriving on scene prompting her to go outside to see what was happening.

Crow expressed concern about the incident, referencing a previous shooting that occurred at T-Mobile on Brainerd Road weeks ago. Two shootings happening in such a short period of time frame made her feel alarmed and motivated her to implement stricter safety measures for their employees’ security.
