Thrills and Tensions: NASCAR’s Action-Packed Weekend at Dover Motor Speedway

Xfinity Series Race and Schedule for Saturday Cup at Dover Motor Speedway

NASCAR’s action-packed weekend at Dover Motor Speedway continues with a full day of on-track excitement on Saturday. Cup teams will be out in full force, practicing and qualifying in preparation for Sunday’s highly anticipated race at 2 p.m. ET on FS1.

The lineup for Sunday’s race is already set, with Kyle Busch starting from the pole position after rain canceled qualifying last season, with Christopher Bell joining him on the front row. However, this year’s Xfinity Series race promises to be just as thrilling, with defending winner Ryan Truex back in the lineup for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Meanwhile, Martin Truex Jr. and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates are hoping to put an end to their recent top-10 drought in the Xfinity series. There are four drivers who have secured spots in the playoffs: Austin Hill, Chandler Smith, Sam Mayer, and Jesse Love. Love will be one of four drivers competing for the final Dash 4 Cash $100,000 bonus against Ryan Sieg, Anthony Alfredo, and Riley Herbst on Saturday.

Corey Heim is set to make his Cup debut on Saturday as he practices and qualifies in the No. 43 Legacy Motor Club Toyota, replacing Erik Jones who sustained a back injury in a crash at Talladega. Heim will make his first Cup start on Sunday.

Riley Herbst expressed frustration after being penalized for passing under caution during last weekend’s race at Darlington Raceway. “I just don’t understand,” he said. “Am I not allowed to pass people on a green-white-checkered?” The Saturday schedule at Dover Motor Speedway includes cup and Xfinity series practice and Cup qualifying in the morning, with the Xfinity Series race set for 1:30 p.m., broadcasted live on FS1 under cloudy skies with a high of 57 degrees and a 2% chance of rain. All times are Eastern Standard Time (EST). The garage will be open from 8:30 a.m., cup practice will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by cup qualifying later that afternoon.

In summary, NASCAR’s weekend at Dover Motor Speedway promises to be filled with excitement as Cup teams prepare for Sunday’s race while Xfinity series drivers battle it out for playoff spots and bonuses
