Baylor’s Scott Drew rejects offer from Kentucky, chooses to stay with Bears

Scott Drew, a successful college basketball coach, has announced that he will remain at Baylor for his 22nd season. Despite receiving offers from other programs such as Kentucky, Drew chose to stay at Baylor where he has led the team to its first national championship in 2021.

John Fanta, a respected college basketball broadcaster and writer for FOX Sports, reported on Drew’s decision. Fanta covers the sport in various capacities, including calling games on FS1 and providing commentary on The Field of 68 Media Network. Fanta shared that Drew’s family played a role in his decision, with three children in high school and college and a desire to stay in Waco.

As a result of Drew’s decision, Kentucky’s search for a new head coach continues. Potential candidates include Dan Hurley from UConn, Billy Donovan from the Chicago Bulls, and possibly Sean Miller from Xavier. Despite lucrative offers from other programs, Drew remains committed to Baylor. He cites it as his home and the place where he wants to continue coaching.
