Resilient in the Face of Adversity: Ethan Crist’s Landscaping Business Survives Devastating Fire

Landscaping business continues operations despite weekend fire

Despite the devastating fire that destroyed Ethan Crist’s home and garage on River Road outside Jersey Shore on Sunday, his landscaping business, Cutting Edge, was up and running the very next day to meet his clients’ needs. Although the blaze destroyed his property, Crist was able to salvage his zero-turn lawn mowers and other essential equipment stored in a nearby barn.

Encouraged by his insurance agent, Crist wasted no time in resuming work on Monday morning, cutting grass for his clients. Grateful for the support of his family and neighbors during this difficult time, Crist was especially touched by the efforts of a neighbor and others who tried to reach him thinking he was trapped inside the burning house.

Crist, who was working on equipment at a nearby property when the fire broke out, was devastated to witness the destruction of his property. Despite the loss, Crist remained positive knowing that his business and property were fully insured. Volunteer firefighters worked tirelessly for over three hours to extinguish the blaze, pulling out burning trucks from the garage and preventing the fire from rekindling in hidden spaces.

The state police fire marshal was called in to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. Meanwhile, Crist vowed to continue operating his landscaping business, grateful for the support and determination of his community during this challenging time.
