Despite the devastating fire that destroyed Ethan Crist’s home and garage on River Road outside Jersey Shore on Sunday, his landscaping business, Cutting Edge, was able to resume operations on Monday. Although his residence and garage were destroyed in the blaze, Crist kept his essential equipment in a barn down the road, allowing him to continue serving his clients.
Volunteer firefighters worked tirelessly for three hours to control the fire that burned for 90 minutes, pulling out most of the trucks in the garage to prevent further damage. A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, while Crist remains focused on moving forward and serving his clients with the support of his community.
Prompted by his insurance agent, Crist wasted no time and was out cutting grass on Monday morning, as it could take a day or two before the agent could meet with him. Grateful for the support of his family and neighbors during this challenging time, Crist was working on some equipment at a nearby property when the fire broke out. Fortunately, he was not inside the burning house.
