Prince of Persia Returns with a Vengeance: A Look at The Rogue Prince of Persia

The Renegade Prince of Persia”: The latest installment from the creators of “Dead Cells

Ubisoft announced the upcoming release of a new title in the “Prince of Persia” franchise called “The Rogue Prince of Persia.” Developed by Evil Empire, the game will feature the eponymous prince facing an invasion of the Huns. Scheduled to debut on Steam early access on May 14, players can expect a platformer with roguelike elements similar to “Dead Cells.”

Evil Empire, known for their work on “Dead Cells,” is likely to bring their expertise in creating procedurally generated levels to “The Rogue Prince of Persia.” This means that each playthrough will offer a unique experience as the levels change with each death or success of the player. The game will feature challenging platform sequences reminiscent of the series, combined with combat mechanics similar to “Dead Cells.”

In “The Rogue Prince of Persia,” players can expect a wide variety of weapons, including sabers, daggers, axes, bows, and chakrams. The prince will also have access to abilities like wall jumping and dodging. The art style of the game has transitioned from pixel art to cel shading, giving it a modern cartoon aesthetic.

With Evil Empire at the helm, there is hope that “The Rogue Prince of Persia” will offer a special and addictive gaming experience for players. After years of neglect, the “Prince of Persia” franchise seems to be making a comeback with the release of “The Lost Crown” and this upcoming title.
