New Additions to the 49ers’ Offensive Lineup: Tight End Eric Saubert and Running Back Patrick Taylor

NBC Sports reports that the 49ers have signed Eric Saubert

In the offseason, the 49ers have made some moves on the offensive side of the ball by signing two free agents. Running back Patrick Taylor and tight end Eric Saubert have both joined the team on one-year deals. While Taylor’s signing was previously reported, Saubert’s addition had gone unnoticed until now.

Eric Saubert played one game for the Cowboys and nine games for the Texans in the last season. Despite having only three catches for 12 yards during his time with Houston, he has had a successful career with stints with several other teams including the Falcons, Bears, Jaguars, and Broncos. In total, he has played in 84 games throughout his career.

On the other hand, Patrick Taylor had a productive spell with the Packers where he had 65 carries for 261 yards and one touchdown, along with 14 catches for 69 yards in 34 games. Both Taylor and Saubert will be looking to make an impact for the reigning NFC champs during the upcoming season.
