MRO Pass Found Successful 23m Drive on Sol 1290, Preparing for Naukluft Plateau Expedition

Day 1292: Challenging Terrain Ahead

On Sol 1290, data from the missing MRO pass was retrieved and confirmed that the 23m drive was successful. The team is now preparing for a challenging journey across the Naukluft Plateau, taking care to plot their course safely.

Today’s scientific activities will involve using the ChemCam and Mastcam instruments to study the local bedrock. Additionally, a Mastcam mosaic will be created to document sedimentary structures in the area. Atmospheric opacity will also be evaluated through Mastcam observations.

After the drive, the team will conduct their standard post-drive imaging to prepare for future targeting and potential contact science in the upcoming weekend plan.
