MilDef Group Secures Major Contract for Operator Computers in Nano Drone Surveillance Project with Global Defense Group

Subsidiary of MilDefs, Handheld, secures 69 MSEK contract for nanodrone technology

In April 2024, MilDef Group announced that they had secured a contract to supply a significant number of operator computers for nano drones to a global defense group based in the US. The customer specializes in providing nano drones for military battlefield surveillance. This contract follows a development order that was announced in July 2023 and is valued at SEK 69 million.

Handheld has provided customized operator computers based on a 7-inch ultra-rugged Android tablet for this project. Drone technology has become a critical asset in modern warfare, offering numerous advantages that have reshaped the battlefield and improved military capabilities. Unmanned aerial vehicles provide advanced situational awareness, target acquisition, and surveillance capabilities to soldiers on the ground.

Daniel Ljunggren, CEO of MilDef Group, highlighted the collaborative efforts and technical synergies between MilDef and Handheld. Handheld’s tablets are known for their lightweight design, durability, and high performance, making them well-suited for developing advanced soldier-carried computers for field use.
