Las Cruces Chief Technology Officer Joshua Silver’s ‘EdTech Pipeline’ Earns National Recognition at EDTech Awards

Nationwide Recognition for Las Cruces Educator in Education Technology

Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) Chief Technology Officer Joshua Silver has been recognized nationally for his efforts in transforming education through technology. Silver is a finalist in two categories at the EDTech Awards, according to a news release from LCPS. The categories are the 2024 EdTech Leadership Award and the EdTech Trendsetter Award, which highlight educators’ contributions to shaping the future of education.

Silver and his team developed a student technician program that allows students to intern with LCPS and gain valuable skills. Silver hopes to build a technology pipeline for students and provide workplace opportunities. He believes this model could be adopted by other districts, offering students the chance to gain work experience and valuable skills that benefit the entire community.

In addition to his national recognition, Silver is known for creating ‘The Tell the Story Film Showcase’, a film festival in New Mexico that exclusively showcases student-produced films. He also hosted and organized ‘Impact 24’, a regional technology conference open to all educators in southern New Mexico. For the latest news, weather, sports, and streaming video, visit KTSM 9 News.
