Isaiah Harris Helps Set World Record in DMR Relay with Strong Leg Run

Brooks Beasts set a new world record in the distance medley relay at the Oregon Relays, with a time of 9 minutes, 14.58 seconds. The race took place at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, where Isaiah Harris played a key role in helping the team break the previous record of 9:15.50 set in 2015.

Harris ran the 800-meter leg of the DMR and completed his first lap in 50.8 seconds before finishing his second lap in 54.9 seconds. This strong performance allowed him to increase the Beasts’ lead over other teams by nearly two seconds before passing the baton to Henry Wynne for the final leg.

Wynne continued to perform exceptionally well and pulled away from other competitors in the final 200 meters, finishing his leg with a time of 3:52.64. This strong finish allowed the Beasts to surpass the previous world record by nearly a second and secure their place in history as record holders at the Oregon Relays.

The teamwork and exceptional performances by each member of the Brooks Beasts team were instrumental in achieving this historic feat at Hayward Field, cementing their legacy as one of the top distance medley relay teams in the world.
