On Thursday, the Helsinki Stock Exchange saw a number of significant price declines among listed companies. Neste, an oil refiner, experienced the biggest loss with almost 8 percent drop in their shares after 12 pm. Kesko’s B-series shares and Kempower’s shares also took a hit during trading.
The reason for these drops was attributed to worse-than-expected earnings announcements by some of the companies. However, there were also some positive results as construction company SRV reported better-than-expected results and saw their share prices rise by over 5 percent by midday. Forest giants UPM and Stora Enso also experienced strong growth, with their shares increasing by more than 4 percent.
Despite this, the day at the Helsinki Stock Exchange was considered a minor success overall, with the general index falling by only 0.9 percent by midday. Investors and traders closely monitored the various companies and their earnings announcements throughout the day.
