Torry from WSJ to Report on Western U.S. Economy

Harriet Torry, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, has been assigned to cover the Western U.S. economy for the publication. She will be stationed in Houston, Texas. Torry has previously focused on consumer-related stories for the U.S. economy from the Washington, D.C. bureau, and has covered the Federal Reserve in the past. With 14 years of experience at the paper, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Chris Roush is currently the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Before his role at Quinnipiac, Roush served as the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has a background as a business journalist and has worked for publications such as Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. In addition to his work as an academic leader and professor, Roush is also an accomplished author having written “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” textbook and biography “Thinking Things Over,” which explores the life of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster .
