GITEX Africa Returns to Marrakech in 2024: A Must-Attend Event for European Startups and Tech Enthusiasts

The Marrakech Global Innovation Summit

In 2024, GITEX Africa will return to Marrakech, Morocco for a three-day event taking place from May 29th to 31st. The success of last year’s conference and exhibition, which drew over 35,000 attendees and 900 exhibitors from 128 countries, has set the stage for another unforgettable experience.

This year’s GITEX Africa offers an array of networking opportunities for professionals in various sectors such as cloud and IoT, cybersecurity, digital health, future finances, consumer technology, telecoms, and AI. With its focus on emerging talent in the startup world and connecting with potential investors and industry experts, it is a must-attend event for European startups.

The African tech ecosystem has experienced significant growth in recent years, with $6.5 billion raised by African tech startups in 2022 alone. This trend is expected to continue as international investors show increasing interest in the continent due to promising GDP growth forecasts. Breega, a London venture capitalist, has compared the African tech ecosystem to Europe in the early 2010s.

In addition to the conference and exhibition booths, GITEX Africa 2024 will feature a startup competition with a $100,000 prize. Attendees can also participate in certified training courses and workshops on topics like generative AI, blockchain development, and data science applications. The event will highlight entrepreneurs and founders from Africa through the North Star Africa startup showcase.

Some of the confirmed speakers for this year’s event include Raz Bachar from Microsoft for Startups, Maelis Carraro from Catalyst Fund
