Former Ducks Connect in Denver: The Broncos’ 2024 NFL Draft Pick Troy Franklin Reunites with Quarterback Bo Nix

Is Troy Franklin poised to start with the Denver Broncos as QB Bo Nix’s go-to receiver?

The Denver Broncos have recently made a significant move in the 2024 NFL Draft, trading up to select former Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin. This selection reunites Franklin with his former teammate, quarterback Bo Nix, who will now be throwing passes to him once again.

Franklin brings value to the team as both a secondary receiving option and a potent deep threat. He has the potential to develop into the secondary option to Denver’s second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Courtland Sutton. During his time at Oregon, Franklin set numerous receiving records while catching passes from Nix. He became Oregon’s all-time leader in receiving touchdowns and tied for the most 100-yard receiving games in school history.

In addition to Franklin, the Broncos also added veteran receiver Josh Reynolds in the offseason, who put up solid numbers for the Detroit Lions in 2023. The Broncos’ receiving group is rounded out by a healthy Tim Patrick, who missed the last two seasons due to injury, as well as Brandon Johnson and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

With Nix and Franklin now leading the offense, the Broncos are looking to make a push for a Super Bowl championship. This reunion is a dream scenario that promises to add excitement to the team’s aerial attack and bring back memories of their success at Oregon.
