The CEO of Fincantieri, Pierroberto Folgiero, shared his vision for creating Italian technology involving small, medium, and large companies during a programmatic conference of Fratelli d’Italia in Pescara. He emphasized the importance of the Mediterranean region as it is the most geopolitically significant sea in the world with numerous submarine cables, telecommunication cables, and gas pipelines running through it.
Folgiero highlighted that protecting critical infrastructure in this region is crucial. Additionally, he mentioned the potential for mining activities in the Mediterranean which presents opportunities for economic and technological growth. Fincantieri plans to produce smaller submarines, three and nine-meter drones with and without crew to contribute to defining missions that ensure the protection of key assets in the region.
Folgiero described this project as a great initiative and expressed his enthusiasm for working with other Italian companies to achieve this goal. He believes that by pooling resources and expertise, they can create a powerful force that will benefit not only Italy but also Europe as a whole.
