Exploring the Depths: The Deep Sea Dreamer Hybrid Submarine Yacht Concept

The hybrid submarine yacht can travel over 11,000 km

A new hybrid submarine yacht concept, the Deep Sea Dreamer, is being designed by American architect Steve Kozloff. The ship promises to provide unprecedented underwater experiences for passengers. With an estimated construction cost of around 250 million USD, the Deep Sea Dreamer can run on water, dive close to the surface, or go down to a depth of 100 m.

The ship is 33 m long and made of sturdy steel with a living area of 140 m2 and two decks that can accommodate six people. Large windows and observation rooms allow passengers to enjoy stunning views of the ocean while diving. Passengers can easily move between decks using watertight elevators or ladder tubes.

The Deep Sea Dreamer is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system that enables it to operate like a normal yacht on the water’s surface or just below it. The ship can dive to a maximum depth of 100m, anchor on the seabed for up to seven days and operate on batteries. The maximum speed of this vessel is 18.5 km/h, with a cruise speed of 11 km/h in a semi-submerged state, giving an estimated operating range of 11,112 km. However, Kozloff emphasizes that this vessel prioritizes relaxation and comfort over speed.
