Economy Minister Luis Caputo to Address Businessmen at Annual Stock Exchange Meeting: Uncertainties and Anticipations Amidst Recession

Luis Caputo to Meet with 500 Businessmen at Stock Exchange on Monday Amid Bases Law Debate

Nearly 500 businessmen are expected to gather at the Stock Exchange on Monday at 6 p.m. for a meeting with Economy Minister Luis Caputo. The event, organized by the Mediterránea Foundation, has been held for three decades and is chaired by María Pia Astori.

The foundation recently commissioned economist Carlos Melconian to prepare an economic plan, which Caputo was invited to discuss at the meeting. Businessmen from various groups, including the regionals, Business Convergence Forum, and Group of Six, are expected to attend.

While there is no defined agenda for the meeting, expectations are high for insights into the economic plan direction. Caputo has recently announced tariff reductions for input imports in agriculture and automotive industries, but uncertainties about the economic recovery persist.

Businessmen hope to gain clarity on issues like exiting the stock market, sustaining the economic adjustment, and ending the recession. They also anticipate progress on key legislation like the Bases Law, which includes privatizations, extraordinary powers for a year, State reforms and labor reforms. There is a common sentiment among attendees that the government should pass laws instead of governing through decrees.

Overall, this meeting aims to provide updates on economic policies and address challenges faced by businesses while seeking support for important legislation like the Bases Law in order to stabilize and stimulate economic growth.
