Da Vinci Announces Opening Date for New Science Center in Allentown

A new science education center, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s curiosity, is set to open soon at the PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown. The Da Vinci Science Center will replace the existing facility on the Cedar Crest College campus and officially welcome the public on May 22.

The center’s inaugural exhibit, Dinos Alive, promises an immersive experience that showcases 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs from Velociraptors to the iconic T-rex. Visitors can also explore interactive exhibits such as the LVHN My Body exhibit or meet North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine presented by Alvin H. Butz.

Executive director and CEO Lin Erickson expressed her excitement about the long-awaited opening of the center, emphasizing the strong community support that made it possible. The center’s mission is to make science come alive and bring lives to science, inspiring people of all ages to explore, learn, and discover at this premier science center in the Lehigh Valley.

In addition to exhibit galleries, visitors can also take advantage of amenities like fully equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and interactive workshops to deepen their understanding of science. There will even be a rooftop terrace for private events, adding to the overall experience of exploring and learning at this premier science center in Allentown.
