Cricket World Cup to Begin at Eisenhower Park This Weekend

This Saturday, the T20 Cricket World Cup will begin with a practice match at Eisenhower Park. Fans are advised to plan ahead and avoid street closures by arriving on time.

Shuttles will be available from two different locations for fans’ convenience. One shuttle will transport fans from the Westbury LIRR station, while another shuttle will pick fans up from the Nassau Coliseum. General parking and rideshare pick-up and drop-off will be located at the Coliseum parking lots.

Several roads surrounding Eisenhower Park, including Merrick Avenue, Park Boulevard, Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, and Park Boulevard, will be closed early Saturday morning. Many fans are eager to attend the matches and hope to get a last-minute ticket to fulfill their dreams. Bankaj Dudd from Hicksville expressed excitement about buying tickets for the match and potentially meeting the players.

In addition to Eisenhower Park, closures also affect Cantiague Park in Hicksville, as teams will be using the facilities during the World Cup for practice before competing in the tournament.
