CCA Places Third in Division 5 at National Tournament

The Chautauqua Christian Academy Defenders clinched a third-place finish in Division 5 of the National Christian School basketball tournament with a thrilling overtime victory against Faith Christian of West Virginia. In the consolation game, the Defenders staged an impressive comeback from a five-point deficit with only a minute remaining in regulation time. The team’s standout players, including Marcus Ryan and Sawyer Lynn, maintained their momentum in the extra period and secured the win with Lynn’s clutch 3-pointer.

Throughout the competition, the Defenders showcased their skills and determination, ultimately finishing third in Division 5 after a strong performance. Their only loss came in the quarterfinals against the eventual champions from Maryland. In addition to their impressive play on the court, Ryan and Lynn were recognized for their outstanding performances by being named to the All-Tournament team.

Hunter Edwards contributed with 10 rebounds and Kayden Peterson showcased outstanding defense throughout the tournament. The Defenders’ success can be attributed to their strong teamwork, skill, and determination to succeed.
