Cape Day: Celebrating Courage and Bravery at Children’s Health Hospital

Superheroes visit Children’s Health for Cape Day Celebration

Nicole Nielsen, a CBS 11 news reporter born and raised in Keller, recently reported on the annual “Cape Day” event held at Children’s Health Hospital. The event was part of National Superhero Day and saw each patient receive their own cape to celebrate their strength and bravery.

One of the patients who received a cape was Olivia Solis, whose daughter received a heart transplant at three months old. Olivia said that her daughter chose courage as her superpower because her story is filled with it. She spent the day with superheroes like Batman and Ironman, participating in activities like cookie decorating and painting. Her favorite part of Cape Day was spending time with her friend Amelia, who also received treatment at Children’s Health.

Olivia and Amelia were joined by hundreds of other children and families who have been treated at the hospital. The goal of the day was to recognize the strength and bravery of each child and family who are treated at Children’s Health Hospital. The event brought together families from all over North Texas to celebrate their children’s journeys towards health and wellness.
