Breakthrough: Israeli Army Seizes Control of Gaza-Egypt Crossing Amid Targeted Activity Against Hamas Terrorist Infrastructure

Israeli Army captures Palestinian side of Rafah crossing in southern Gaza on Egypt border

On Tuesday, the Israeli Army seized control of the Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing, which connects Gaza Strip with Egypt. This crossing serves as one of the main entry points for humanitarian aid to the enclave. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated in a published statement that they have initiated targeted activity in limited areas in eastern Rafah with the objective of targeting terrorist infrastructures of Hamas.

Following intelligence indicating that terrorists were using it for their objectives, the IDF took operational control of the Rafah crossing on the Gazan side. Hamas launched an attack with projectiles from the area resulting in the death of four Israeli soldiers. The IDF has targeted and destroyed terrorist infrastructure, including military buildings and tunnels, leading to the death of approximately 20 terrorists.
