Aces celebrate at White House with Biden honoring women’s sports accomplishments

President Joe Biden hosted the Las Vegas Aces, the reigning WNBA champions, at the White House to celebrate their achievements and honor women’s basketball. The event took place in the East Room, where Biden emphasized the importance of representation for girls and women in sports. He highlighted the significance of supporting women’s sports as a nation.

During the celebration, both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were presented with jerseys from the winning team. Biden enthusiastically held his jersey up and exclaimed, “Put me in, Coach, I’m ready to play!” Harris commended the team for playing with joy and serving as role models both on and off the basketball court. She highlighted their inspirational impact on people across the nation and around the world.

The Las Vegas Aces secured their second consecutive WNBA title by defeating the New York Liberty in the championship game in October. Their visit to the White House acknowledged their accomplishments and celebrated the achievements of women in sports.
