Ballet Shoes Stage Adaptation Premiers at London’s National Theatre: A Family-Friendly Festive Show to Look Forward To

World Premiere of Stage Adaptation of Ballet Shoes to Take Place at London’s National Theatre

The world premiere of a stage adaptation of Noel Streatfeild’s best-selling book, Ballet Shoes, will be hosted by London’s National Theatre. Kendall Feaver has penned the adaptation, which promises to be a festive and family-friendly show. The play will begin performances in the Olivier on November 23, with an official opening scheduled for December 5. Directed by Katy Rudd, who is known for her production of The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Ballet Shoes is set to captivate audiences with its story of three adoptive sisters and their pursuit of their individual passions.

Set design by Frankie Bradshaw, costume design by Samuel Wyer, choreography by Ellen Kane, composition by Asaf Zohar, lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by Ian Dickinson, and casting by Bryony Jarvis-Taylor have all contributed to make this production one to look forward to. National Theatre Director Rufus Norris is thrilled about the adaptation stating that Feaver’s new take on the beloved story will bring fresh energy into the classic tale.

Ballet Shoes follows the journey of three sisters – Pauline, Petrova and Posy – as they navigate their identities and dreams in a crumbling house filled with dinosaur bones and fossils. Guided by their guardians Sylvia and Nana as well as some unexpected lodgers, the sisters work towards pursuing their individual passions. Tickets for Ballet Shoes will go on sale to the general public on May 2nd . More information can be found on the National Theatre’s website at www.NationalTheatre.org.uk
