Air Traffic Controllers Union Calls Off Strike at Paris-Orly Airport; Online Gaming and Cosmetic Services on the Rise in Popularity among Users

Strike notice by air traffic controllers at Orly for June 11, 12 and 13 lifted after negotiations

The planned strike at Paris-Orly airport from June 11 to 13 by the air traffic controllers union, Unsa-Icna, has been called off. An official from the union revealed that the strike notice has been lifted, including those for July 4 and 5. The decision to cancel the strike was made in order to avoid complicating internal issues within the General Directorate of Civil Aviation with the political situation following the dissolution of the Assembly national by President Emmanuel Macron.

Unsa-Icna had organized a strike in May that resulted in the cancellation of 70% of flights at Orly. The union had been demanding additional recruitment through this strike, but an agreement between the DGAC and leading organization representing controllers, SNCTA, did not address recruitment issues. Despite this cancellation, issues of recruitment and working conditions for air traffic controllers remain unresolved.
