A man from Zoarville is currently in jail, awaiting formal charges related to a series of recent break-ins that took place at the Dollar General in Roswell, Tusky Valley Elementary, and the Atwood Dari Bar. Deputy Chase Newell investigated the incidents and discovered that a truck was seen at all three locations on surveillance footage.
The suspect, a 39-year-old man, was attempting to change the appearance of the truck at his home when authorities were able to track him down. He is accused of stealing Chromebooks from Tusky Valley Elementary, which have resale value, as well as cigarettes, food, and drinks from the other locations.
The Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to determine if the suspect was involved in a recent theft at a Dollar General store in Sherrodsville. Additionally, it was found that the suspect was in possession of a stolen pop-up camper from Stark County. The investigation is ongoing and formal charges are pending from the county prosecutor’s office.
