Youthful Athletes Shine on Busy Sports Day: Edmonds-Woodway, Lynnwood, Meadowdale and Lake Washington Showcase Skills and Talents

On a busy day in the sports arena, several games took place, showcasing the skills and talents of young athletes. In a Boys Soccer match between Edmonds-Woodway and Stanwood, junior midfielder Jesus Ortiz Suarez made a great play by stealing the ball from a Stanwood player. The game took place at Edmonds School District Stadium and was captured in photos by Michael Bury. Throughout the game, players like junior midfielder Joey Dornay, junior midfielder Alex Plumis, senior midfielder Anand Raghu, captain and senior forward Andrew Montero, and senior forward Richard Duncan showcased their skills on the field. In the end, Edmonds-Woodway emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over Stanwood, with goals scored by Richard Duncan, Alex Plumis, and Andrew Montero. Goalkeeper D.J. Karl also contributed to the win with a shutout performance.

On the same day, Lynnwood defeated Everett 2-0, with goals scored by Jonathan Andrade and Ben Vu. Amaru Sialer provided an assist, while goalkeeper Hunter Licata secured a shutout for Lynnwood. Meadowdale also had a successful game against Arlington, resulting in a 3-3 tie. Meadowdale’s goals were scored by C.J. Obeize, Maximo Falagan, and Caleb Angeles, with assists from Austin Earls, C.J. Obeize, and Maximo Falagan.

Switching to the softball field, Lake Washington secured a 6-1 victory over Meadowdale. Meadowdale’s Mia Cantu stood out with two base hits
