Young Minds, Bright Future: Chatham Middle School Science & Technology Fair Showcases Innovative Projects

Local Announcements: Winners of the 2024 Science and Technology Fair in CMS

The 2024 Chatham Middle School Science & Technology Fair was recently held in the school gym, featuring projects from students in grades six through eight. The competition showcased innovative ideas and skills of young minds. Winners were selected from each grade level, with Miles Schuster taking first place in the sixth grade, Jack Galvin winning in the seventh grade, and Lucy Tassinari and Logan Van Wie earning the top spot in the eighth grade.

Students participating in the fair developed a hypothesis or technical problem and used either the Scientific Method or Problem Solving Method to test their theories or find solutions. The judging was done by Chatham’s high school and middle school science and technology faculty during class hours, where students visited to view the projects. In addition to judging, classes also had a chance to learn more about scientific research and innovation through presentations by previous winners of the competition.

The fair was open to the public in the evening, where visitors could see for themselves how these young scientists are shaping up to be future leaders of their field. At the end of the event, winners were announced based on their creativity, innovation, and ability to apply scientific concepts to solve real-world problems. Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and hard work towards advancing scientific knowledge!
