Young and Wealthy: The 2024 Forbes Billionaires List Dominated by Young Heirs

At just 19 years old, Livia Voigt becomes the youngest billionaire in the world with a staggering net worth…

It’s fascinating to observe that the 2024 Forbes Billionaires List is dominated by young individuals, with 25 of the youngest billionaires all aged 33 or younger. Among them is Livia Voigt, a 19-year-old Brazilian student who has surpassed Clement Del Vecchio to become the world’s youngest billionaire. She has inherited her wealth from being one of the largest individual shareholders of WEG, a Latin American electrical motor manufacturer founded by her grandfather Werner Ricardo Voigt and late billionaires Eggon Joao da Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus.

Despite her billionaire status, Livia Voigt is still studying at a university in Brazil and does not hold a seat on the board or an executive position at WEG yet. Her net worth is valued at $1.1 billion. However, she has joined forces with her older sister Dora Voigt de Assis, who is also on the list for being only two months older than her. Dora earned her architecture degree in 2020 and together they are part of the WEG legacy, which recorded revenues of approximately $6 billion in 2022.

Other young heirs who have recently joined the billionaire ranks include Ireland’s Mistry brothers, aged 25 and 27, who inherited sizable fortunes from Tata Sons after their father’s death in 2021. Each of them holds an estimated net worth of $4.9 billion. As we can see from this list, it’s clear that wealth doesn’t always come with age; sometimes it comes with family connections and inheritance rights.
