Young Activists Unite for Electoral Campaign Training: A Renewed Approach to Politics through a Bottom-Up Approach

Democratic Party Holds Political Training Workshop in Frascati

The national laboratory of political participation and training, known as “House by house, street by street,” was held from April 12 to 14 in Frascati (Centro Giovanni XXIII) by the PD in preparation for the European electoral campaign. The event was organized by the Political Participation and Training department based on the training needs identified by the party base in various territories. This marked the first in-person gathering after two cycles of webinars that tested forms of participation and sharing of proposals and campaigns launched by the PD.

Marwa Mahmoud, responsible for political training in the national secretariat of the PD, highlighted the strong demand for a renewed sense of politics as values, idealism, and collaboration through a bottom-up approach. The two-day event in Frascati aimed to provide territories with tools and skills to support party activities and electoral campaigns. It served as the beginning of a national participation and training initiative involving young activists under 35 from all federations who will work together during the European election campaign alongside thousands of PD militants using innovative tools.

Around 200 young activists from across Italy met trainers, experts, and political leaders in Frascati to learn about organizing and managing an electoral campaign comprehensively. The participants delved into various aspects of campaign management over the weekend, engaging in behind closed doors discussions and activities.
