The Richmond Hill YMCA is now offering cutting-edge technology to enhance the workouts of its members. EGYM technology, which has already been transformative at other YMCA branches in Coastal Georgia, is described by Stefani Mosquera, the executive branch director, as “revolutionary”. This technology features flat screens on equipment that guide users through their workouts by detailing muscle-building goals and appropriate weights to use. Additionally, users can access a strength test to tailor their weight-training program.
EGYM technology goes beyond a traditional workout by collecting data on users’ range of motion, strength, and agility, allowing for personalized adjustments during the workout to account for individual strengths and weaknesses. Christopher Sweat, the marketing and communications director for YMCA of Coastal Georgia, explained that EGYM technology represents the future of fitness by combining advanced technology with the YMCA’s values of inclusivity and community.
Over 9,000 individuals across six locations have already benefited from EGYM technology. Developed in Germany, EGYM is exclusively available at select YMCAs in the United States. Mary Arocha, the senior vice president of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia emphasized that this innovative approach to fitness is sure to enhance the overall experience for gym-goers in Richmond Hill and beyond. With EGYM now available at the Richmond Hill YMCA members can expect to see positive impacts on their fitness journey just as other branches have experienced.
