In Sanya, China, Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City has recently been designated as a National Offshore Entrepreneurship Base for Overseas Professionals. This approval has accelerated the development of the city as a showcase zone for international talent innovation and entrepreneurship. The construction of the city began in 2019 and has since provided comprehensive support for both domestic and overseas talents, with a focus on key industries such as the seed industry, deep-sea science and technology, life sciences, and the digital economy.
One of the unique features of Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City is its team of Service Specialists, known as “Cheng Xiaoer.” Charlotte from Belgium is the first international Cheng Xiaoer to work in the city, primarily responsible for international enterprise services and investment. She has been working in the city for three years now, and she notes that there has been an increase in international enterprises seeking information at the city.
The city has also established an international talent workstation and the “ITCC International Talent Community,” attracting 324 international talents. These professionals regularly exchange daily life experiences in Hainan, creating a warm atmosphere that enhances Hainan’s appeal to high-quality human resources from across the globe. Looking ahead, Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City plans to leverage Hainan Free Trade Port policies to introduce enterprise and talent systems that encourage overseas project leaders, high-level talents, and funds to relocate to the city further attracting international talents to start businesses and pursue employment opportunities.
