Xiaomi Takes the Wheel: The Launch of their First Electric Car, SU7 Sedan

Xiaomi introduces its inaugural electric vehicle

Xiaomi Corporation announced the launch of their first electric car, the SU7 sedan, on March 28. This marked a significant milestone for the company as they continue to expand their product offerings beyond smartphones and other consumer electronics. The SU7 sedan is available for pre-order in China and deliveries are set to begin at the end of April this year.

Customers can choose from two versions of the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) – Xiaomi Pilot Pro and Xiaomi Pilot Max. The former is based on the Nvidia Drive Orin chip while the latter comes equipped with lidar and City NOA autopilot. Depending on the configuration chosen, the battery capacity will be either 73.6 kW/h (700 km), 94.3 kW/h (830 km), or 101 kW/h (800 km).

The design of the SU7 sedan was overseen by a team of specialists who previously worked at BMW and Mercedes-Benz, ensuring a high level of quality and performance. With this entry into the electric car market, Xiaomi joins a growing number of tech companies seeking to revolutionize the automotive industry with innovative and technology-driven solutions.
