WSFA 12 News welcomes its newest sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the team. After serving as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for the past two years, Baker has joined WSFA and will take on the role of weeknight sports anchor. During his time at KTEN-TV, he delivered local and regional sports news from north Texas and southeast Oklahoma.
Baker is a Georgia native who graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism. He has a background in sports broadcasting and has worked as an intern at WRBL in Columbus, Ga., and wrote for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Ga., covering UGA sports. He expressed his enthusiasm for SEC sports and his eagerness to highlight athletes in Alabama during his time at KTEN-TV.
Excited to work alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director, Baker stated, “I’m honored and excited to join the WSFA team and look forward to showcasing athletes from high school, college, and the pros in and around Montgomery.” Langello also shared her excitement about the new partnership, expressing her confidence in Baker’s background in sports reporting.
Langello emphasized Baker’s passion for sports and willingness to get involved in the community. She encouraged viewers to welcome him with open arms as he begins his new role at WSFA 12 News.
