World Stock Markets: A Weekly Recap of Financial Trends and Analysis

Europe has a positive lock while Wall Street remains closed for Memorial Day

The trade overview provides a comprehensive analysis of various financial markets, including current reports, trends, indices, stock prices, bonds, foreign exchange, and commodities. European stock markets closed positively last week, with the DAX rising by 0.4% and the French CAC adding 0.5% in value. In the UK, there was no trading activity during that period. Wall Street was closed for Memorial Day in the US.

Commodities also performed well last week as oil prices rose by 1%, with Brent trading at around $83 and WTI at $78.4. However, gold experienced a sharp drop due to rising US yields and a strengthening dollar.

Analysts from Lombard Odier have a positive outlook on global stock markets and expect growth in major indices due to company profits and global growth. They also predict some pressure on the US stock market in the near term. Meanwhile, oil prices have fallen for the fourth consecutive week due to concerns about Fed’s interest rate decisions, increase in oil inventories, and worries about future demand.
