Pest Management Organizations Gear Up for World Pest Day

The Global Pest Management Coalition (GPMC) is preparing to celebrate World Pest Day on June 6, 2024. Since its inception in 2017, this global event has been recognized for its importance in raising awareness about the critical role that pest management plays in safeguarding public health, food safety, and the environment.

To mark this occasion, the GPMC will be featured during the Global Public Health & Food Safety Summit, which will take place from June 4-6, 2024, in Miami, Fla. Organized by the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA), the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), and the Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers Associations (FAOPMA), this summit will include specific programming to commemorate World Pest Day’s significance.

The objectives of World Pest Day are to increase awareness among the public, government officials, and the media about the vital role played by pest management organizations in protecting public health, projecting a professional image of the industry, promoting responsible use of professional pest management solutions scientifically and socially responsible manner, and highlighting threats posed by small pests.

This year’s theme for World Pest Day is “Global Solutions Local Impact: Mapping Success in Pest Management.” According to a news release from NPMA, this theme underscores the importance of both international cooperation and local initiatives to achieve positive outcomes in pest management.

As part of their celebration efforts, GPMC plans to introduce new content on their website – www.PestManagementCoalition.org – showcasing case studies from member organizations around the world highlighting successful stories and innovative solutions in pest management.
