Raisi’s Passing: From Hamas’s Mourning to Houthi Condolences

In the aftermath of the tragic confirmation of the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, world leaders offered their sincere condolences to Iran. Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, expressed its pain and sadness at the loss of influential leaders who had supported the Palestinian cause.

Hamas’ message of condolence was echoed by many world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yemeni Houthi movement, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al Sudani, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, European Union representatives, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Russian embassy in Tehran and special flights from the Moscow Ministry of Emergencies returned to Russia after participating in the search for Raisi’s helicopter. Lavrov emphasized that Russia and Iran have a strong and reliable friendship and expressed his condolences for the loss. The Emir of Qatar and UAE President also conveyed their condolences and solidarity with Iran during this difficult time.

The international community’s empathy and support for Iran through expressions of sorrow and unity reflect the global impact and significance of this tragedy. The message sent by world leaders stands as a testament to the importance of solidarity during challenging times.
