The Temple of Rock, Obras Sanitarias, hosts an international Counter Strike 2 tournament

In Buenos Aires, Argentina, electronic sports fans eagerly anticipate the most highly anticipated event of the year: an international Counter Strike 2 tournament. The tournament will take place at Sanitary Works stadium, a venue that has hosted many important events in the past, including Argentine League of Legends finals. This will be the first time that this stadium hosts a competition with the spirit of a video game World Cup, developed by Valve.

From June 14th to 16th, eight top teams from around the world will compete for a prize pool of $150,000 dollars in front of thousands of Argentine fans. Teams competing include Fnatic and Ninjas in Pajamas from Europe, Red Canids and Imperial from Brazil, and the local representatives 9z Globant and Beast of Latin America.

9z had a standout performance at Inter Extreme Masters in Dallas in 2024, reaching the semi-finals for the first time. They are now hoping to secure a victory in front of their home crowd at Sanitary Works stadium. The tournament will follow a Swiss format, with all-against-all group matches on Friday followed by best-of-three matches on Saturday to determine semifinalists.

The knockout playoffs on Sunday promise to be intense as teams battle it out for the title. Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime event are now on sale at prices ranging from $15,000 to $40,000 pesos for each day of the tournament. With FiReSPORTS organizing this milestone event and top teams competing against each other, it is sure to be an unforgettable experience for electronic sports fans in Argentina.
