Woodlands Pole Vaulter Secures Spot on Team USA for Paris Summer Games with Personal Best Performance

Robert Wesleyan pole vaulter qualifies for Paris Olympics

Brynn King, a pole vaulter from The Woodlands, TX, has secured her spot on Team USA for the Paris Summer Games. King finished third in the women’s pole vault at the U.S. track and field trials in Oregon, clearing a personal best of 4.73 meters.

Reflecting on her achievement, King said she was overwhelmed with emotion when she realized she had made the team. Her coach, Jenn Suhr, a former gold medalist herself, has been instrumental in King’s journey. Suhr recruited King to train at Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, NY, where she found a supportive and nurturing environment.

King credits Suhr with helping her navigate the nerves and uncertainties of competitive athletics. She plans on returning to Rochester to continue her training before heading to Paris for the Summer Games. This will be King’s first time competing in Paris, and she is excited to represent Team USA on the world stage.

Suhr said she was thrilled for King and proud of her hard work and dedication to the sport. “Brynn is an incredibly talented athlete who has worked tirelessly to reach this level,” Suhr said. “I have no doubt that she will continue to excel and make us all proud.”

King thanked Suhr for her guidance and support throughout her journey as an athlete. She also expressed gratitude to her family and friends who have supported her along the way.

As King prepares for the Paris Summer Games, she knows that it won’t be easy but is determined to make her country proud with her skills and hard work.
