Wood and Juno: Reducing Waste and Saving Resources with Innovative Partnership in Global Sustainability Initiative

Wood collaborates with Georgia-Pacific’s Juno to advance waste reduction technology

Wood and Juno, a Georgia-Pacific company, are collaborating on a waste recovery solution called Juno® Technology, which can divert up to 90% of municipal waste from landfills and recover valuable recycled materials. Wood will provide full engineering services, including FEED and detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm), for Juno’s new waste processing sites globally. Wood will also assist with maintenance operations once the facilities are operational.

Giuseppe Zuccaro, President of Process & Chemicals at Wood, sees this partnership as an opportunity to support clients in delivering sustainable solutions and reducing landfill waste. Juno Technology uses a proprietary process to recycle materials from waste streams and recover commodities like paper fibers, plastics, metals, and biogas. Juno is scaling its technology in North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia. The FEED for its first commercial waste processing facility in the UK is currently in progress.

This collaboration between Wood and Juno represents a significant step towards reducing landfill waste while recovering valuable recycled materials. With the help of Juno’s proprietary technology and Wood’s expertise in engineering services, this partnership has the potential to make a significant impact on downstream petrochemical news by creating more sustainable solutions for municipal waste management.
