Witbe, a leading provider of test automation and monitoring technology for video service providers, has announced the launch of its new ABR Stream Analysis technology. This innovative solution will be officially unveiled at the 2024 NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 14-17, in the West Hall at booth W2053.
The ABR Stream Analysis technology enhances the monitoring capabilities of Witbe’s popular Witbox+ by analyzing the requests between a video app being tested and the network it runs on. By doing so, service providers receive additional data on how a user’s video-watching experience is impacted by Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) streams.
Witbe’s technology involves testing and monitoring real physical devices to measure user quality of experience and identify video issues. The Witbox+ allows teams to observe and monitor services while they are running on any real device, such as smart TVs and mobile devices. With the new ABR Stream Analysis technology, service providers can now gain an additional level of monitoring through the network layer. It automatically verifies the availability of video profiles, audio, and subtitle tracks for any streaming asset.
Mathieu Planche, CEO at Witbe, commented on this exciting new offering: “We developed the ABR Stream Analysis technology in conjunction with our new Ad Monitoring and Matching technology as a natural progression in our mission to assist service providers in accurately testing and monitoring their video offerings.” He added that he was thrilled about launching this innovative solution to enhance the monitoring capabilities of the Witbox+, which is considered one of the most powerful automated testing devices on the market.
After its launch, customers can purchase either as a software addition to their existing Witbox+ or as a separate dedicated device in Witbe’s hardware line called WitboxABR. The new device allows teams to fully utilize the ABR Stream Analysis technology while conducting network tests at scale by running thousands of sessions simultaneously or monitoring CDN errors or SCTE-35 cues.
Overall, this new offering from Witbe represents yet another significant step forward in providing high-quality test automation and monitoring solutions for video service providers worldwide.
